Jan Soderstrom is a seasoned marketing and branding expert. She has served as Chief Marketing Officer for SunPower Corporation, Senior Vice President for Global Marketing at 3Com Corporation and Executive Vice President for Visa International. During Jan’s 14 year tenure at Visa she was responsible for highly successful branding and promotional campaigns as well as global sponsorships including the Olympics. Jan has held other key marketing positions at The Gap, Atari, Hughes Airwest. Levi Strauss and Sunkist Growers. She started her career with a training year at the Pillsbury Company in Minneapolis.

Jan is a current member of the Global Advisory Council for the Women’s Tennis Association, and is also a member of the Board of Directors for CCA Global and chairs the Advisory Board for the Chief Marketing Officer Council. She has served on boards of the Association of National Advertisers (where she served as Chair 1994-96), the Ad Council, Claremont McKenna College Board of Trustees and Illuminations. Additionally, she has served on the advisory boards of Winkler Advertising and Decker Communications.

Past honors have included: One of the 100 “Best & Brightest Women in Advertising” 1988 Ad Age; One of the 100 “Most Powerful People in Sports” 1997 Sporting News; “Sports Marketing Personality of the Year” 1998 Sport Intern; “Corporate Advertising Executive of the Year” 1998 Delaney Report; and Palo Alto Red Cross Annual Community Service for Youth Award 2005. Jan holds both a BS and a MS degree from Arizona State University where she was named “most outstanding senior woman”. She is married with two sons.
